OBEC's Priorities for Oklahoma

By applying business principles, OBEC's goal is to improve public education in Oklahoma first by building the infrastructure to analyze and drive decision-making. These priorities, established after national and statewide research, focus all of OBEC's activities.

• Promote high and rigorous academic standards for all students.
• Develop a comprehensive system of assessment and accountability.
• Improve the status of the teaching profession by transforming teachers' skills, pay, and work environment.
• Help establish a uniform, electronic student record-keeping system for the State of Oklahoma.
• Increase funding and flexibility in funding available to schools from local sources.
